Washington City

Washington City was the first town established in the Virgin Basin. Mormon settlers arrived in 1857 and were the forerunners of “Utah’s Dixie.” Situated south of the Virgin River, Washington thrives as the sister city to St. George also complemented by its warm climate, expansion, and growth of commercial and residential real estate, multiple golf courses, access to big box stores, and of course, friendly people. The Washington City Recreation Center is a favorite of locals with loads of indoor recreation facilities. Green Springs and Coral Canyon golf courses are minutes away and easily accessible to the Washington Fields area through a myriad of artery roads and continual expansion of schools, open space and some of the best city parks found in southern Utah.
